Wow- Just whipped through the ridiculously stupid SURVIVING CLIMATE CHANGE AND OTHER DISASTERS. Sex worker? Of course, so easy for a woman to just sell her body if needed. Only a man would think that that would be a Entertainment option. Did you even ask a female to tell you that we don't think that is funny, because a lot of us would rather be dead then be forced into having to prostitute.

Hi K, thanks for the comment.
Let me see if I can clear up your interpretation of this section. First of all, I make no specification of women being sex workers, all genders/sexes of people work in the sex industry. Second of all, being a sex worker does not mean being a prostitute. There are many other things that sex workers do that do not involve having sex with others. Thirdly, multiple women read through this book and this section without issue, including my 4 female editors.
I'm unsure how you were reading this section, but it might be helpful to consider that the Skills and Careers chapter is a meditation on what jobs and skillls will still be around in a collapse scenario - including ones that are looked down upon by the mainstream. I apologize if you felt I was arguing people should rush out to be prostitutes, while I see nothing wrong with people being sex workers, this certainly is not my aim - My aim is simply have a civil discussion on what a post-collapsed society may look like.
